Marriage
I stood in the sound booth a few years ago, not long after Jesus came into my heart, and helping to prepare a worship service for Him was such a joy in which to take part.
I stood there as the first guitar note played, a note impossibly low, and the words of the song stood out in my mind, telling of a miracle it was my privilege to know.
"Do you feel the mountains tremble..." were the words that hung in the air, and the sound of that one music note traveled through the floor; hearing and touch melted together in a moment so rare.
I felt the music as well as hearing it, and joy just filled me to the brim, for I knew for just a moment the enormity of the miracle of the love and care that flowed out from Him.
It reminded me of a moment before and though I didn't know, of one that was yet to come; that closeness to God, that certainty of His love, that knowing of where all good things are from.
I thought back to the first moment, when Jesus came into my life, that same sound-feeling came over me; the trembling joy to know that I was forgiven, and I was re-created, a child of God, free to become, free to be!
It was a moment that seemed to suspend everything; time stopped and there was a hush all around, for I could "feel the mountains tremble" - not out of fear, but for the complete joy that I had found.
And now that future moment has come, I remember it so clearly, like it was yesterday; the moment God brought you and I together, I knew this was His plan that He'd put into play.
For when I saw you, that same hush seemed to fall, and that same musical note trembled in the air, and everything that was in me resonated to the sound, the melody of God's love and care.
When I saw you standing there, my heart responded to yours, the song in your
heart was the same as mine, and again I "felt the mountains tremble" and I knew I had found a love that would stand the test of time.
Every morning when I wake, that music is inside of me, that note that I feel as well as hear, and I know that the melody it plays is joy in knowing you are near.
I thank God every day for the music in my life, for filling wishes and making my dearest dream come true; for the beauty of that one shimmering note that sings out my joy in loving you!
