My daughter was getting married and my ex-wife who left town shortly after our divorce was in town. I knew I would see her but didn't realize the range of emotion, I would go through.
From the moment she walk into the door, I felt the glow of conifidence that I had never seen in her before. She had change quite a bit in the last three years. She was a sucessful business woman and inspiritual speaker. I didn' realize that she had written a book until one of my friend brought it to my attention.
"How are you doing? You look great," she smiled when she spoke to me.
"I doing fine. You look great, so where is your future husband at tonight,"I jokely asked.
"I'm sorry to disappoint you but after being married to you for 17 years. I don't have the time or the energy to raise another husband," she said jokely and walk away.
I didn't realize how much a missed her until that very moment. If I could God have a second chance with her please let it be. I miss the breakfast in bed for no reason the fact that ahe loved me. We had problems, that why we are not together today. She spend to much money and didn't want to do what I told her to do. She was not the submissive wife to her man of God.
Although she thought that our problems needed some professional help, I didn't. She just over react to a lot of things. I didn't have the time or the patience for any of her suggestion. It's my house and I ruled it like I was the king.
She got fed up with everything that she said I was puttting her through and left me. She took the children packed her bags and moved in with her mother.
We did try to get back together but she was willing to go by my rules so, we got a divorce and she moved away with the children. The children came to visit on hoildays and sometimes for the summer but my house was not the same.
My daughter's wedding was beautiful and she glower with the same confidence that I now see in her mother. Am I happy ruling my empty house?
No. Yes, Lord I do have regrets, that I didn't get help because of my pride. To this day I still love her because after everything was said and done she truly was my good thing. I hope in my heart that I'll get a second chance with her but hey pride keep me from asking her.
