A few years from now I can imagine myself sitting outside on the front porch watching life. As the breeze hits my face and I inhale life I will be greeted by a visitor, you. You will begin your list of why and how questions, "Mom why this and how that," and I will answer the best I can. But one day you will come to me with the question that I have been waiting for, "Mom why did you name me Trinity, is it because of God?" And I will say, "well yes, everything is because of God, but you are also named Trinity because God was there for you even before I could be." "You were born special, some call it a birth defect, but not me. I will tell you, "God does not make any defects, that He touches us all in different ways." "Everyone is made special, some people like you carry their specialness on the outside for the whole world to see." I will touch your cheek and say, "before you were born I thought God only existed in the Bible and the church, but now I know that he lives in doctors, nurses, therapist, and just a caring unknown person on the street who gives a kind word." I will pull you into my lap and say, "you see, before I wrapped in a blanket, you were wrapped in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and that is why you are named Trinity, because They knew you before I did, and They made you special." You will look at me and smile, not really understanding all of my words, but one day as you hold your own little baby you will give thanks to God that He knew her before you did.
