Insomnia

O Midnight,
magic hour
transforming
coaches to pumpkins
and vice versa,

Perhaps
you are at fault
when my pumpkin head
takes flight
growing wheels
or wings
at the toll of midnight.

No longer content
to vegetate
my mind soars
around the world
encompassing
princely plans
poetry
possibilities
and impossiblities…

Sometimes
awaiting only dawn
to return with sighs
to its pumpkin disguise.
