The Race of Grace
an amazing race
beginning from the cross
taking away the sin and curse
not a 100 metres dash,
But it is a journey;
a journey of life
A journey to heaven
For those properly enrolled.
Requires great discipline,
Like all athletes in all other races.
It?s training for reigning
With Jesus when He comes.

I must put my body under,
Buffet it night and day.
I must die daily.
Killing the outward man
For the inward man to live,
And ride higher and higher.
Eyes on the goal,
Eyes on the crown,
Eyes on Jesus,
I must keep my focus.
The accolades may come,
But I must not be sidetracked.
I must not be dislodged.

And when I fall
Through the bump and pothole,
It is not the end.
I have a Friend.
A good friend,
Who stays to the end.
Through Him- the Greater One in me,
I can rise again and regain the lost;
I must the Good News tell
Regain momentum and press ahead,
Knowing that it?s not over until it's over.

This race is not competitive
But for complementing one another,
Because we need each other.
We must love one another
Serve one another
Pray for one another
Lift one another
As we run this race of Grace.

By His grace
I must finish this race
And finish well

I must go daily
to the Throne of Grace
to draw grace again and again
I must not relent
I must press, reach
Sacrifice, pay the price
For the great prize.

I must forget my past fast-
Failures and successes
I must reach for higher heights
and deeper depths
that which eye has not seen,
ear not heard, and that
which has not entered
into the heart of man-
that which God Almighty
foreordained for those who love Him.
