It seems today that the person of Jesus is being brought down to human conception. The reasons for this may be that man's understanding is limited to the five senses, and what man can not assimilate with these senses, then man dismisses it; even though the evidence is substantial. However, who can deny the impact that Jesus has had unto history? Millions of men and women have died for that name; even up to this very day. At the moment you read this, someone some where is either in prison, or being put to death for the name of Jesus, though we do not hear of it, it is happening, just as Jesus said it would.

To make Jesus merely a man, without acknowledging his deity, is spitting in the face of all who have died for him. Why would a person give his or her own life for a mere man? Though there may be many who had died for someone or something, none are to the extent of those who have died for Jesus. All of the Apostles were martyred for that name. Peter was crucified upside down, and James, Jesus' brother, was stoned, and his head was crushed by a club. James the brother of John was beheaded, and Stephen was stoned to death. This does not include the thousands upon thousands of men and women of every age, that were cruelly tortured, given over to wild beast, and put to death. Some were burned, beheaded, or beaten to death, and others died in prison. They were tied to horses and pulled apart, or dragged around until their flesh tore off. Some had boiling oil poured on them starting at their feet, and ending at their head. Many have endured such unimaginable torture, that you would wonder if the men that carried out these treatments, where even human, and all of this was done so they would renounce the deity of Christ Jesus.

The Apostle Paul stated: “Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one. Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger form my own countrymen, in danger form Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false brothers. I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked (2 Corinthians 11:24-27).” And by the hand of the Roman Emperor Nero, he was beheaded for the Gospel of Jesus. No one would endure such torments for just a man. However, lets take Paul's words into consideration about who he claimed was the person of Jesus Christ: “He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross (Colossians 1:15-20). This statement claims Jesus to be more than just a man; in fact, this statement is claiming him to be God, and that he shed his blood upon the cross, and was raised from the dead, so through him all things may be redeemed. These are bold statements for just a mere man.

So before you listen to the hype of the media, or historians set out to disclaim Jesus, do your own research. Do not even take this writers word for it, but examen the evidence yourself. There are other sources besides the Bible that give ample evidence to Jesus Christ, and prove the nobility of his deity; however, in the long run, it is up to you. Because to believe in Jesus is not about evidence, but faith. God sent his only Son so all that believe in him shall be saved, but blessed are those who believe yet do not see, so that your faith is like that of a child, and not forced by proof.
