Desire’s Faire

© David Ian 1/19/05

Cut my soul, Lady, let me bleed
Come to the well and drink me deep
My heart is a table laid open bare
Enter and feast on Desire’s Faire
Take your portion and have your fill
What would you have of me -- your will?
I am whole when we are one
Your pleasure’s mine when all is done

Take my all, Lady, all and more
Hear my heart, its empassion’d roar
Live to love, my soul implores
Served as an off’ring,
Desire’s yours

Shatter'd mirror of my masquerade
No more disguise imagination-made
Stripped of pretension, foolish pride
Here in my Honesty I reside
No more rules the endgame’s done
Sealed with a kiss, the battle’s won
I am yours as you are mine
Passion’s pact like ivy entwin’d

Take my all, Lady, all and more
Hear my heart, its empassion’d roar
Live to love, my soul implores
Served as an off’ring,
Desire’s yours

Flicker of flame in the animal eye
Here in our shadow life in wait we lie
A hint of movement, a touch, a chill
We close our eyes, complete the thrill
In our seclusion comes off our chains
Freed, unbound and unrestrain’d
Shriek and howl, wail at the moon
Daylight hour coming much too soon

Take my all, Lady, all and more
Hear my heart, its empassion’d roar
Live to love, my soul implores
Served as an off’ring,
Desire’s yours

Fires dying to embers warm
Lying still in the eye of the storm
Moments eternal hanging in the air
A silent heart beat together we share
Flames of night slip to morning hue
Sunbeam lights our visions anew
Fleeing shades leave behind the mundane
Until our hunger conjures them again

Cut my soul, Lady, let me bleed
Come to the well and drink me deep
My heart is a table laid open bare
Enter and feast on Desire’s Faire…
