Some will try to wear you out like a pair of shoes
and when you look, your sole's worn out
There's nothing left, for them to use anymore
it's came to an end on this route

You can be on it too long til the steps grow thin
the shoe's are not fit to wear anymore
But still they keep trying to put more on them
crying, It's not enough, I need me more

The heart says go and throw those old shoes out
get a new pair, and let them get their own
This time your're going use, yours for yourself
and that is for you alone

Lord you told us to cast all my cares upon you
unload and put them in your hands
O' Lord you did say you'll be the load bearer
and so here, is where it stands

You didn't tell us to go and worry ourselves
to cause our minds to burn out
But we keep picking them up, all over again
did we open, the door to doubt

But instead to believe that you're still able
to handle each and everyone they be
Lets unload this stuff, and say, enough is enough
empty out so the soul can be free

Then tell the Lord here they are one by one
now we can put our minds to rest
And put on our new shoes and do a few steps
for we are through of this test

Lord we thank you for this child like faith
that always does come on time
Though we may blow it, once in a while
but the word it settles our minds

don't have to carry things that God didn't bring
and the spirit I'd let us know
For if it grives the heart, then it can't be good
and could be the time to let it go

No we're not always going to be flying high
our spirit, it will get a bit low
But thank God for the word we have inside
that helps us say, O' heart let it go

Now these words I've wrote their not for everyone
but the soul shoes, have been on this trail
And does recognize what, the price they had paid
and now could use some help to go their bail
