Light brings information and transformation.
They suffered, wallowed in ignorance.
Lack of knowledge cause them to perish.
But one day, they saw the light,
And every thing changed.
They confronted their slave masters,
Conquered their idleness,
educated themselves,
and came out of shackles of poverty.
Let there be light! And there was light.

They thought some races were good for nothing,
Only fit for hard labour, the shackles and the chains.
Man's inhumanity to man.
Tribal chiefs were accomplices, part of the problem.
Greed blinded their eyes, drove them to sell their kit and kin.
Then light dawned on William Wilberforce and friends.
˜This is not right, they said. ˜It must come to an end.
The crusade began until the slaves were freed.
Let there be light! And there was light.

There was the partition of Africa,
the colonisation of America- North and South
then there was light in the minds of the enlightened.
'This is not right,' they said.
They fought until the wind of change blew.
Empires fell and the nations were freed.
Let there be light! And there was light.

And there in West Africa mosquito reigned
Apart from the rain.
And so it became the white man's grave.
The creature was tiny, but the damage was mighty.
Then man went to work.
And with God's help breakthrough came.
Let there be light! And there was light.
