Why God Allowed Hurricane Katrina
Have you ever noticed the first questions people ask are, "Why?" "Why did God let this happen?"
"If God is Love why did He let people die?"

We're more judgemental than we think. We throw out all these accusations without looking at the facts...the Word of God. We tend to reason within ourselves without the knowlege of God.

I remember when 9/11 happened. I was listening to the radio. The tears were coursing down my face. The ache in my heart was just indescribable. All the emotions and feelings washed over me faster than any reasoning as to what had actually happened.I was greatly overcome with grief for the enormous loss of people. I knew my grief came from the realization that hundreds, perhaps thousands were dropping into Hell. I knew there were also others who were suffering yet crying out to a God they had never spoke to, and God would save them. Later, I read and heard of the testimonies of people who were saved while buried beneath the rubble of the twin towers. It was a bitter-sweet moment to be sure.

Then I recalled the day I lost my twenty-eight year-old brother-n-law,a devoted uncle, and my husband's only brother died the day after being carried by an angel out of his burning house. He fell asleep on the couch... the couch that in seconds became a bed of fire. The house was completely engulfed in flames, yet God mercifully led him to the door where he could get outside to shed his flaming garments. 100% of his body was burned. The paramedics said they had never seen someone converse with them and thank them for helping him with that degree of burns. In the hospital, before leaving for the burn center, my brother-n-law was mercifully given one last chance to hear the love of God and what He had done for him. Before he lost conscienceness, he confirmed that he would be in Heaven waiting for us. He was a believer! I remembered not a day later, how I had prayed that God would do whatever He could to save him. To save him from an eternal Hell. God's ways are not always ours, but I knew He had answered my prayer. Others were saved and many hearts surrendered to the Lord.

God's ways are past finding out. His wisdom is as inifite as His love and mercy. His understanding is far above me. I look for my own understanding through God's Word, and I find it in Deuteronomy 4.

"Unto thee it was shewed, that thou mightest know that the Lord he is God; there is none else beside him.
Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and
upon earth he shewed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.
Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the Lord he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.
But if from thence thou shalt see the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with thy whole heart and with all thy soul.
When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the Lord thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
(For the Lord thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither will he destroy thee...


My God is an awsome God. He reigns over Heaven above with wisdom and power and might, our God is an awsome God.
