“Darkness is my fear”. So many nights I creep out the window. Trying to find out if somebody is outside. I’m so paranoid. I’m afraid that somebody would sneak in and do this and do that. At school, I always look around to see if somebody’s following me.
Not until I realize, this is all junk. And it is not really the darkness that I fear but I. I’m afraid that somebody will recognize me and will come to me and ask, “Have we met before?” No, I don’t want that to happen. I’m afraid of shame. I’m afraid they would say, “Yah! Now I remember, you are one of the kids there! I was there too! I’m one of the donators. Have you received something that day?”
I’m ashamed of it.
Until when will I hide in darkness? Until when will I suffer this? This is suffocating.
They said, “Nothing is wrong with that. And yet, you are not the only one”.
But for me, why is it I haven’t been like others? Why do I need to be this way? Why? I don’t want to be an ORPHAN. I want to be an ORDINARY child.
