... so my pastor has this temerity to believe that God is really alive and ever available for individual and corporate advise. This particular weekend he had, instead of the regular sermon he had prepared, shared a message that he believed that God would rather have him speak to his congregation. It was a message explaining that God has infinite spiritual growth and opportunities for those who will trust that He loves them and that He has nothing but good in His Heart for them. That if any believer take steps of faith to participate in His Loving work, those believers will not be able to hold the blessings He has for them in return. That our pasts have nothing to do with the future He has for His children.

After sharing what was placed on his heart, this pastor asked each of us to turn to the person next to them and share what, if anything, the message meant to them personally. This was done, partly, as a confirmation, a test if you will, for him and for us that it was, indeed, a timely Word from the timeless God for this particular group of individuals within the Body of Christ.

I shared with my neighbor two incidents that both occurred just the day before.

First, I had heeded a request to help a church planting group to move to their new location and had been given unexplainable strength and aerobic capacity to do the task. If I explained my age, medical condition, and my habits, you would understand what a supernatural intervention this was.

Second, I had heeded another call to serve in the Children's Ministry. That evening's session gave me the joy of holding and interacting with a very young baby for an hour. If I explained how far from innocence I had gone, you would understand how redeeming this was for me. I had such an all encompassing sense of peace that I was virtually speechless for the remainder of the night.

These two proofs were only the most recent of many that confirm the Truth that weekend message had revealed. After our individual discussions, the pastor was going to dismiss the service but then asked for a couple of more minutes. He added that as the congregation was sharing, he sensed a voice from one or many hearts in the congregation.

My mind said, "Oh boy, here it comes. A message of rebuke is sure to follow. Steel yourself, Bob. Here comes the disappointment, the judgmental voice telling me something or other that's going to cut off these baby feet that are only just now starting to walk in service, in faith, in trust."

Pastor went on to say, "The voice I sensed from one or many in the congregation said, "Yeah, but you don't know what I have done. You don't know what I am doing. You don't know who and what I am!"

Pastor shared that what he "heard" God saying to that "voice" was, "Oh, I know you. I know it all. And you are welcome."

If I explained my life and my heart's self evaluation, you would understand why I could not stop the tears that welled up in my eyes at the hearing of this Loving postscript.

Hello Bob,
When I read the ending of your sharing, my eyes too...did well up. I slowly read the last lines over three more times, and each time I got the same feeling on how much God loves us, and welcomes us.
Thank you ~
