To the Lord,
And for my friends.
I dedicate my love to Him,
My heart to them.

For Him, I resign my life,
For them, I take up my shield,
My sword,
My cross…

All that I have,
I have from Him;
For that reason alone,
I have much.

All that I have,
I give to my friends;
From Him:
Breath,
Blood,
Love,
Life.

May my heart,
Be knit with theirs;
By Your Spirit,
By Your love and truth.

If I am found,
No longer in this world;
May my life be given with joy,
Since He gave His for me;
I will only respond in kind.

Let my knees be found,
Calloused from prayer;
For those dear to me,
Those who read these words.

Take me, Father,
And remake me;
Shape me through the love,
I have for You.

I will fight,
With the weapons giv’n to me,
For my family from the Lord!
And so I take up my shield,
My sword,
My cross.
Amen!
