I noticed that FSU beat Miami 10 to 7. What spiritual message is encoded in this sports tid bit, though I doubt FSU considers it a tid bit?

The message is simple: Life goes on.

Yep, in spite of the carnage of Katrina, life goes on for those who are still alive and that is the way the Lord prefers things to be. In spite of the flood of Noah's day, Noah kept on living and his sons and their wives reproduced.

This does not mean that no one mourns the loved ones who had life snatched from them in the storm and its aftermath. Nor does it mean that we who are among the living should fail to care and heaven forbid fail to act in cash and goods to relieve the suffering. Not at all, but rather we must find ways to continue current commitments and increase the concern flowing from hearts and also the material flow from already stressed pockets.

One dear yet in my opinion often misguided soul, asked: "How can we make sure any gift goes only to those who deserve it, as after all there some wicked people who survived the storm?" On the surface this is a good question, but one that God answers every day when the Sun comes up and perhaps softer with His whispering rain. Concerning those who are in need, I ask only, does the Sun shine on them? Do they get wet in the rain?

In the midst of the death chamber of the Super Dome, new life came crying into the world in the direst of surroundings. Perhaps one will find a cure for a major disease. You never know. Sam Levinson said: "I believe that each newborn child arrives on earth with a message to deliver to mankind and must be treated a top sacred." What message will some of the Dome Kids bring to the human race. Perhaps some will proclaim the savior with grand power. I sure hope so.

Many, including yours truly, watched in disgust at a few dozen gender confused souls paraded their rebellion of confusion through the ravaged streets of New Orleans in the pathetic remnant of Southern Decadence, more of a parody than anything resembling reality, yet when you think about it, that may be the best representation of such evil practice. A friend who was watching or more accurately, glancing at the TV, said, "Isn't God discouraged with all of us?" He was touching on the subject of the universal sinful nature of us all, mentioned often in the Bible. I quickly pointed out the fact the for sure God is disgusted with our practices, whether they of the sort we were seeing on TV, or the more acceptable kinds of debauchery.

Events like Katrina and the above 'parade' make us wonder about the patience of God. Yet, to come back to my premise today, life goes on! And that is very good. An unusual man, Rabindranath Tagore, of another era wrote: "Every child comes with the message that God is not yet discouraged with us." God's way of saying; "Life goes on."
