From out the cloudless sky of life
May swoop destruction, hell and strife
As unsuspecting, we attend
To chores and foibles...without end;
But then appears chaotic wind
Which creates pains that never mend;
Sustained by ONLY prayer and Friend,
As one...the right to life...defend.

All knew the storm was lurking there...
Some couldn't leave...some didn't care,
Relentless and determoned gales
Replaced by tortured groans and wails
...unfathomed agony prevails
As human effort tries and fails.

"An act of God!" is what 'they'll' say
Yet human error played its role
In what Katrina had to give
And multiplied the grievous toll....

So...how does one arise from this,
Abandon all to start anew?
Or build once more on shifting ground
Where dire potentials still abound?
We'll not escape, though we may try,
To evade ALL peril from a cloudless sky.

Perhaps 'tis time to Heaven plea,
Assess ALL life from bended knee
As sanity and reason flee....
The vap'rous outcome...we can't see...
Pray...when our hope and strength may fly...
For His sweet peace...from HIS cloudless sky.

Howard, great thoughts here! I read your profile. Though your eyes to see the visible world have failed you; your eyes to see truth have not. Keep up the good work!

Brilliant! That's what we need to do - pray. Pray for wisdom to be protected from disasters that so often we are responsible for.
