He gives me songs in the night. He is My Peace, My Calm, in the middle of these storms. “Hold me, Jesus, because I am shaking. Everything that I hold dear has
been tested.”

I am coming through on the other side of the darkest night. There, ahead in the distance, I can see a new season. There is the land of milk and honey for me. This detour I’ve been on was somehow necessary in my life to bring me to this place, to the place of complete reliance upon You.

I reach up and gently hold the Father’s hand. Daddy God looks down at me and smiles. That is all that I need, to feel His love radiate from above, knowing that He is right beside me, loving me through this hour in my life. A new season is coming and the old has been pruned away.

Lord, give me strength to make it through this trial. I trust You with all of my heart. Deep down I have calm assurance that you have already taken care of everything. I trust You down to the core. You have my best interests at heart.

It is You that I love. You, Father, are the One I adore. I sing out a love song to Jesus. You have created me. You put this love in my heart along with the deep desire to follow You. I cannot walk without You holding my hand. I will not attempt the smallest of tasks on my own. You are My Desire. You are Who I long for, Dear Lord. Hold me. I’m shaking. I don’t know how to be anymore open and honest than this. I only know how to be real with You, Father. All that You see in me isn’t always good. Make me more like You, Jesus. Hold me close to You.
