The Mystery of Existence Itself

There was a time in my life when I felt like I was an alien living on a planet that I shouldn’t be on. And there even came a time that I even questioned existence itself; not wondering why we were here, but I was curious as to how the first thing, whatever that thing was, came to be. The creation of the planets, the stars, and of course, the universe, are legitimate concerns to anyone searching to understand the meaning of our very existence, but at an early age I wondered about the very first anything. What if nothing had ever developed? Why the word nothing wouldn’t even exist to describe the nothingness! One’s brain could literally explode trying to comprehend our own existence.

Often, when I try to explain my query, people assume they understand what I am talking about and try and give a quick answer: “It was The Big Bang”, “only God knows what happened”, or “I think aliens brought us here”. But there is on quick answer to “was there anything before there was nothing?” And if God exist, was there a time before He even existed? Like I said, one’s head could explode trying to examine this question.

We live on a planet the perfect distance from the Sun and the Moon, allowing gravity to consistently sustain our life systems. We have the perfect atmosphere that allows us to breathe and process Oxygen for our blood systems. It almost seems inconceivable that all of the right circumstances came together to create the existence that we all find ourselves experiencing on a day-to-day basis.

But as I read more and more of God’s Holy Word, I realize that He has addressed the important issues concerning our existence. And that on the day we are reunited with the One who can answer our questions about the creation of everything, I will be asking Him how it all started. But the one thing I refuse to do is to assume I can figure out the answer on my own. Only the architect of an amazing structure can truly understand and explain his thinking behind his creation. And so I will wait until I can speak with the Grand Architect who brought “anything” into being, including, it appears, Himself. I look forward to the day begin to learn more about the “mystery” of the Maker of every thought and query.
