When Peter admonished husbands to live with their “wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel,” he acknowledged that men are physically stronger than women. Men, implied Peter, are like terra cotta and women like fine china.

Peter appeared to state the obvious, yet the politically correct seem unable to grasp it. As a result, they implement policies that weaken society and stifle God’s best for America. From the lowering of firefighter standards for female applicants to the glorifying of single motherhood, the humanist belief that men and women are identical prevails. Its prevalence extends even to the armed forces so that women are now allowed to participate on the battlefields of war.

The sending of women into combat zones is a tragic example of feminism run amok, as the death of Private First Class Lori Ann Piestewa exemplifies. Piestewa, who was killed during Operation Free Iraqi, was a single mother of two: a 4-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. Now her children are orphans—-victims of war and victims of political correctness.

Sadly, Lori Ann Piestewa’s children will grow up without their mother. Had godly thinking prevailed, Piestewa would have remained in the U.S. raising her children instead of facing enemy fire on the battlefields of Iraq. And had biblical precedence been followed, the men would have taken their place as warriors and defenders of our national treasure—-our children-—instead of allowing mothers to leave their most important vocation: the raising of our posterity.

How many more women will we send to the battlefields before we realize that mothers should be kept from harm’s way to nurture and instruct the next generation? How many more women will become POW’s and victims of repeated rape like the female POW’s of the Persian Gulf War?

How many, I ask. Too many, I fear.
