WE MUST
SEPARATE BLACK FROM WHITE

Now that I have your attention, that is if you got past the title, allow me to explain. We must separate the black from the white, this is not dealing with the different ethnicities, for in God there is not Greek nor Jew, free nor bond and I dare add, Black or White. What I am referring to here, is that when black and white mix you get gray, and God never intended for us to live in a gray world, a world where the line between black and white, or more to the point good and evil had been so blurred that they could not be told apart. Good and evil, right and wrong should not be like identical twins, where you cannot discern the differences.

We are told in God’s Holy Word “…For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” (2 CORINTHIANS 6:14) What this Scripture does for us is show that there is a distinction between good and evil, right and wrong, in other words there are such things as moral absolutes. So much for ‘situational ethics’. Situational ethics, now that’s a morass of gray area if ever there was one. “It’s just a little ‘white’ lie, it didn’t hurt anyone. You know that type, don’t you? the phone rings and you don’t want to talk to the person, so you have someone else answer and tell them you’re not there, come on after all where’s the damage right. Or, maybe you fudge a little on your taxes. Claim some ‘charitable’ gifts that you never really gave. After all the Government has a lot of money, they won’t miss a few dollars and your family could sure use it. The problem is while none of these are as horrendous as murder, or rape, or robbery, they can put you on the slippery slope to other lies. The situation does not add credence to the action. The word of God reminds us in Corinthians the fifth chapter and sixth verse “…Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?” In other words it is not the size of the sin, or the nature of the sin that makes you a sinner, it is simply sin because God says it’s sin.

When you leave morality up to a simple majority rule, you have built your house on a foundation made of sand, and it will not stand against the storms of life. We are told “Because it is written ‘Be holy, for I am holy’” (1PETER 1:16) We must choose holiness and righteousness, then we have built our house on the solid rock of Christ Jesus, and though the storms will still come, our house will stand.

We can have an individual holding the highest office in our land and one of the most powerful positions in the world, and he plays word games to skirt around the issue of his sin. Rather than take the high moral road and admit to, and seek forgiveness for his sin, “…and be sure your sin shall find you out.” (NUMBERS 32:23) Sin happens, we are all fallible people, but we are instructed to repent not make excuses for them. Lets get out of the gray and back to seeing the difference between black and white.


Let’s get back the ability to tell good from bad, evil from righteousness. Let’s get back to a permanent line in the sand and fear to cross it.
