“Listen for the Whisper”

“Before I made you in your mother’s womb, I chose you,” (Jeremiah 1:5).


Would you like to hear something wonderful? In the book of Isaiah, God tells us that, “I have written your name on my hand,” (Isaiah 49:16). God knows you by name. What an awesome thought huh? He who is your heavenly Father, your creator and your savior knows your name out of the millions that are His children. And not only that, but He knows every hair on your head; He has known you since we were in your mother’s womb. That is where He had chosen you to be His child. That means God doesn’t only know you by your name like any other person who might have your same name, He knows you personally, individually, and uniquely. And when desired, He can call your name on His lips to get your attention so that He can talk to you. Maybe you have seen your name honor in some special place before, like a diploma or an award. Or maybe you’ve never seen your name honored anywhere. It doesn’t matter now, because what can be more honorable than to have your name written on God’s hand, and to hear your name spoken with such love on God’s lips. Here on earth, you might be ecstatic just to hear your name spoken by our president, or maybe even heard over the radio from some disc-jockey’s mouth. Well, this isn’t just any disc-jockey, this is God.

And though the thought is quite over whelming, but it is true! God has your name written on His hand, remembered in His book, and spoken by His mouth. God knows your name and if you listen carefully with heart, soul, mind and ears, you will hear Him whisper your name softly by His lips. Your heavenly Father wants to talk to you.
