His Voice I Heared

Before the break of dawn, I woke up as if a very powerful force was pulling me out of my comfort zone ( my cozy bed), to respite in my secret closet. I groped in the dark, and almost hit my sleepy head at the wall, seemingly hypnotized by the stillness of the moment. I opened my Bible, and I must confess my intention wasn’t so godly at first : Read until my eyes get tired- until I get the sleep that had been evading me for several nights now. And yet, instead of sleep, I was awakened by a sudden revelation, a shocking truth…

My spirit was restless within me. Questions flooded my mind that I needed to ask God. I seeked Him but He seemed so far away.

“ You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13 NASB).

My heart and mind were clouded by many distracting thoughts – bills to pay, meals to cook, laundry to do, closets to organize, family and job responsibilities, world problems, etc. Yet in a moment’s thought I got the courage to ask my Lord, “What is Your will for me?"

“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect” ( Romans 12:2 NASB ).

That’s it! He showed me the truth . As I let the spirit of the world to get out and the Spirit of God to come in , He took possesion of my whole being. My inner lost self found Him back as I returned to His Arms that welcomed me - a prodigal child.
I’ve been trusting in my own understanding for quite awhile. I asked His blessings after I already made plans. My pride engulfed me, blinded me from the truth. He taught me that unless I humble myself before Him, acknowledge Him in all my ways, and trust Him with all my heart, (Proverbs 3:5,6) then, He will direct the path that He set before me – the right path . His Ways are not my ways. Absolute surrender and deep intimacy with God are what please Him most.

His voice I heard before the whirlwind of the day swept over me. A silent whisper. Yet, how powerful it was.

“Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things which you do not know” ( Jeremiah 33:3 NASB ).

Dear Heavenly Father, let the Holy Spirit have full dominion over me, in every thought, in every word, every feeling, every deed. As I follow Your leading, I am ready to face the day. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

Yes, Lord ! With You, I am ready to face the day. And even with sleepless nights, with You at my side, I am grateful, for Your Spirit is awake within me.

In His Service,
Gloria Tiquia

"I asked His blessings after I already made plans. My pride engulfed me, blinded me from the truth." It is so, so easy for that to happen! And it's so easy to be distracted by things around us, worldly things. But praise the Lord, He will not let us stay there for too long. It is certainly a humbling experience. And isn't just like Him to teach us full surrender by allowing us that time of believing we've got it all together!?! What a mighty and loving Father He is!

Gloria, You are truly the obedient servant that God desires! You inspire us to seek Him and put aside our worldly duties that pull us away and shove us into daily chaos. If we seek Him first, everything else will fall into place. Thank you for leading us in the right direction! Love, Peggy
