What if it’s a girl?

I can see big brown eyes looking back at me, but those eyes are my eyes…
in someone else.
She smiles, but that seems so familiar, I’m astonished.

Who are you, I ask.

I’m your little girl.
I’ve been growing and kicking in your tummy, for a whole 9 months and I’m finally here, outside, delighted to be with you.

A little hand, grabs my finger and I’m overwhelmed.

A little girl from my womb, a girl with all the lovliness of womanhood, within her, the softness, the gentleness, the passion…

I pray for my potential baby girl, grace to know her worth in Christ, peace to rule over her emotions, protection and above all love that surrounds her continually.

I place my hand on my almoste bulging tummy… What if it’s a girl?

I’d be delighted, and so would be my husband, who now and again, grabs me by the waist and says, Hey my girls, how’s my girls…
