Apologetics
This is my response to a question posed by a coworker regarding Freemasonry:
I've done a great deal of research on various cults, and they are a cult. Masons and their spin-offs, Shriners, Elks, Moose, Daughters of the Rainbow, Eastern Star and the like, are classic definitions of a cult. They restrict access to the Jesus Christ of Scripture.
Masons have three basic beliefs:
1. You are in darkness (compare John 8:12; 1 Thessalonians 5:4-5).
2. You will remain in darkness until you join their organization (compare John 12:46).
3. You need to bow down to the leader of the lodge called a worshipful master (compare John 4:23-24; Revelation 22:8-9).
All three violate the Scriptures. It's amazing how many Christians have joined this group!
Masonry requires that each candidate believe not in God, but any god. This explains why there are Masonic lodges that are all Islam, Hindu or name your flavor. Most agree the "G" in their symbol represents God, though even some Masons disagree on whose god you are referring to. The compass represents the circle of the brotherhood. The square represents how one is to keep his life perfect to enter what they call "The Great Lodge in the Sky” to be with the “Great Architect of the Universe.” Notice how slick they are to insert works-salvation while they refrain from giving the God of the Bible his proper name. To avoid offending the non-Christians, no Christian is allowed to pray in Jesus’ name at any meetings. It's amazing how many Christians have joined this group!
The god is Masonry is Jubalon:
1. Ju for Jehovah
2. Bal for Baal (Yes that same Baal in the Old Testament that kept Israel in trouble!)
3. On for Osiris, one of the Egyptian gods
His secret name is Mahebone, but if asked, you didn’t hear it from me. It's amazing how many Christians have joined this group!
The 32nd degree of the Scottish Rite (or Shriners) has a secret name for their deity-Abaddon. Yes that same one mentioned as the god of destruction in Revelation 9:11!
Ever wonder why they wear the red hats with the crescent and sword of Islam? Those hats used to be white. In the 7th century in the city of Fez, a call was made to Muslims to slaughter all Christians. As a horseman approached a Christian, he would use his sword to cut off their head. As a testament of their crusade, they would take the white hat and dip it in the blood covered streets. Even today, they call the hats fezzes. It's amazing how many Christians have joined this group!
What's even more amazing, some pastors, elders, deacons, lay leaders and the like are members of this secret society. I think Jesus said it’s difficult to serve two masters. You will love one but hate the other (Matthew 6:24). It's amazing how many Christians have joined this group!
The call is for all Christians who have joined this faction to repent, leave the lodge, rededicate themselves to Christ, and live a life that conforms to the Scriptures, worthy of kingdom building.
