There is so much freedom in western countries regarding the things of God. There is freedom to worship, to meet, to evangelize.

No-one gets their door broken down for holding a Christian meeting in the church or home. It did happen though in the old Soviet Union, and most likely still does in Communist China. It could happen in the future in Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia.

Right now, no-one will be arrested for talking to someone in the park about Jesus. No-one is likely to disfigure your car because you have a Christian sticker on it. This writer’s car has never been interfered with after two years displaying large Christian messages. So why are so many scared to do it?

Satan appears to have a stranglehold on Christians today. That western democracy freedom may as well not be there. The law permits us to proclaim gospel truth. It is the chains of the mind that prevent us doing so.

The freedom we have now is like the milk in the refrigerator; it is to be used by the expiry date marked on the carton. Our expiry date for gospel proclamation is being set now by those who are pawns of the devil. How foolish we are to sit back and wait for that time. We can learn from the ants: they work, hurry and scurry when the weather is fine, for they know it can soon change.

Christians are bound by fear of man, fear of ridicule, and the world around us is the result. It is a tragedy. We all need to see people as God sees them; headed for the lake of fire unless they repent and turn to Jesus. People are drifting toward a lost eternity. How can we stand before Jesus and have to admit we did nothing?

To overcome fear we need to believe the Word. Believe that God is upholding us with His righteous right hand. Believe He is with us always, believe that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. There are many other such promises in the Bible.

Having believed the promises, then we must go out and act upon them. Dear believer, as you do so, you will see demons flee just as the Bible says. You will see the opposition melt away before your eyes. Oh yes, they can yell and make threats, but quote the Word to them and they become nothing but hot air and puff. I know, because with God's backing I have done it.

When you are a Spirit-filled believer, all that satan throws against you will fail. God has given you all you will ever need to take on the powers of darkness, and to get out there with the truth.
