Make It Simple

I know I’m one of those who have fallen into the trap of writing so many words, cluttering each sentences with many figurative speech, flowery words, vain repetitions, only to end up confusing the readers (including myself) with questions and wrong interpretations. When I want to prove a point, whether it’s talking to my teenage daughter or adult son, or arguing with my husband, or debating a word of a “know-it-all” individual, I tend to repeat myself over and over, and yet, still felt misunderstood and at times criticized. Why? People doesn’t have all the time in the world. I learned that less is really more.

I admire simple faith. Simple living. Simple, uncluttered mind. Simple, clear and to the point words.

Most important of all, let’s not clutter the simple message of the gospel. As the Apostle Paul warned the Corinthian believers: “But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3)

Simplicity doesn’t mean you are not operating at full capacity. A simple heart of devotion to God with a goal of glorifying Him instead of ourselves- that’s as simple as it can get to please God.

I read this wonderful article earlier but was not ready to comment on it. But today the message of your article hit home. “Simplicity”...........Christ showed us this simplicity, “Love God, then love others and yourself. It can’t get more simple than that and so why do we have to make it so complicated? Next is “simple faith”. I am praying for the faith of a mustard seed so I can move that mountain. A mountain that will bring faith in our Lord Jesus to many and glory to the Father. Please pray for me.... for this simple faith. Thank you for being there for me and putting out kind reminders and kind encouragement to do God's work.

AMEN, Gloria, AMEN! A dear friend of mine always wakes up in the morning thanking God for all He has provided and asking Him to lead her path for that day. Her faith is acceptance and then 'listening' for guidance (trusting and obeying)- SIMPLY beautiful! Wait upon the Lord and He will provide all that we'll need - including the words! Your message was so perfect for me at this time and I'm sure to many others, too! God bless you. Love, Peggy

Gloria,
Very Beautifully written,
I too, find myself doing this very thing, using words that complicates and sometimes, confusing the issue. God and His salvation plan are simple,to understand, so simple in fact, that even a small child can understand.
God has "corrected" me on this several times.
And you're so right, sometimes the least does say the most!!
Keep writing .... keep it simple!

Gloria, you are exactly right. Simple is better. It is all about His finished work on the cross and His grace that we receive as a free gift. So many times, people try to make it about works or something else. It is Christ, nothing less, nothing more. We can't take away or add to it. Blessings. Very well stated.

Wow! I've been trying so hard to answer people's question -- "Why have you not been posting lately?" -- but I have had no real answer. I believe you've explained it very well here. I've posted a million words already and I am in a place of rest in Him right now. When He gets ready to give me more words, He will. My main focus is just to serve Him and keep my eyes ever toward Him... and the simplicity of just KNOWING that He IS.

Beautiful words to our hearts Gloria.

I Love the Truth of God that it can reach the heart of a child. And I love the Beautiful words that are found in the Psalms and in the book of Song of Solomon found in The HOLY BIBLE.

God has gifted and has called Christians in The Body of Christ to write about His Love and Mercy and Truth throughout the centuries. We have been given the privelege to share the Truth in Beauty and in The Spirit of Love. God surely sees our hearts when we write!

In Jesus Love, your Sister

How true that we must never add to the finished work of Calvary.
Jesus paid our sin Debt ,Jesus paid our Debt on Calvary with His Precious Blood. Jesus is the only way to the Father's Heart.God's Holy Spirit enables us to live the Wonderful Spirit Filled Life moment by moment day by day.
