The Adventures of
Kit and Kat
Chapter 4

We had just gotten
done eating
supper and cleaning
up,when we
heard a knock on
the front door..Then
Kit excitdely remembers
that the nice new vet,
Dr.Asa Kipper was
suppose to stop by
and this might be
him at the door!

Kit,I will answer
the door Momma
saids,as she walks up
to the front door
where Kit was about
to open it.
Ok Momma,kit replies
and backs away
from the door as Momma
opens it,and sees
Dr.Asa Kipper
standing there
smiling at her.

Hello Faith,thank you
for inviting me to stop
by,its better than going
home to a empty house..
Well,please come in
Asa,Momma saids...

Hi Dr.Asa!
kit saids,nice to
see you again.
I am glad you had the
time to come over
for a visit.
Thank you Kit,nice to
see you too again,
OK,you know Kat is
a fine and healthy,
beautiful cat you
have Kit,Asa said.
Yes I know
Dr. Asa,since God
gave her to me,
And I take very good care
of her with Momma's
help.Kit replied.
I see that you
do,replied Asa.

Please Asa come sit down
here at the table
and I'll get you a cup of
coffee if you like some,and
one of my homemade
brownies,Momma then said.
Homemade brownies,oh Faith
that sounds wonderful.
I haven't had any homemade
cooking in quite awhile.
Asa replies as he walks
over to the kitchen
table and sits down.

Don't your wife cook
for you Dr.Asa?
Kit then asked...
I am not married Kit,
I cook for myself.
replied Asa.
Gee Dr.Asa that is
too bad,you must
get lonely sometimes all
by yourself,said Kit.
Well,yes Kit I
do get lonely sometimes
but I keep busy with
my work, Asa replies.

Here you go Asa
coffee and brownie,
Momma saids as
she places coffee and
a brownie in
front of Asa on
the table..

Oh Faith this sure
reminds me of the
good old times we
had together,
Adam and I and
you,sitting right
here at this same
table sharing a cup
of coffee,and your
good cooking,Asa saids.

Yes Asa I remember
them too.We had alot
of fun together,
Momma replies.

And I got to tell you
Dr.Asa how God sent me
Kat when I prayed for
a cat,Kit saids...
Ok honey,I am listening,
tell me your story...
Asa replies.And Kit
proceeds to tell him
exactly how God
sent her Kat.And
that's how I got
Kat Dr.Asa,Kit
saids as she ended
her story.

Well now that is a
amazing story for sure Kit,
I am glad for you
that God sent you kat.
Asa replies quietly,
looking down into
his cup of coffee...

Kit its is almost
your bedtime,please
go get ready now,
and come back and
say your good nites.
Momma said to Kit.
Ok Momma,I'll be
right back..Kit replies
as she gets up and
goes upstairs to get
ready for bed.

Such a lovely child
you have Faith,I
am sure you and
Joshua are proud
of her..Asa saids...

Yes we are Asa....
God has blessed us
greatly with her
since,as you know,
I wasn't suppose to be
able to have a
baby at all.

So many doctors
told me and
Adam that..But we
just trusted God,
and waited for the
fulfillement of
His promise that
He gave us when we
were married..Momma saids.

What promise was that?
Faith,I do not
remember it now,its
been so long ago..
Asa then replies.

God promised us that
He would give us
our own child,from
our own bodies who
would be a witness
and a testimony
of His great love..
That she would be our
miracle baby,and many
would come to
now Jesus thru her.
Momma replied.

That is amazing Faith,
I do remember
that both you and
Joshua wanted a child
of your own desperately.
I am glad for you
that God kept His
promise to you...
Asa saids.

Momma,I am ready
now,good nite
Dr.Asa,I hope
we can talk again
soon..Kit saids as
she comes back
into the kitchen to
say her good nites...

Good nite Kit,nice
talkng to you too..
We will talk
again,replies Asa.
I'll be right back
Asa I always listen
to Kit's good night prayers,
Momma saids as she got
up to go with Kit.
OK,that is fine
Faith...Asa saids.

Oh,and Dr.Asa,you
know Jesus loves you
just the way you
are,right now,He
loves you..Kit saids
to Asa as she
was going out of
the room with Momma.

Asa looks startled at Kit,
wondering how she knew
he was wondering if God
did in fact love him...

Well Kit is on her
way to dreamland,
Momma saids as she
comes back into
the kitchen and sits
down at the table
with Asa again..

Asa what is wrong,
you looked sorta
surprise by what Kit
said as we left
the room,Momma saids.

Well faith its
a long story,
and you do know
some of it,but
not all of it..
replies Asa.
Well if you want
to talk Asa,
I am listening..
Momma replies.

Yes Faith I was
surprised by what Kit
said as you two
left the room a few
minutes ago.I was
wondering how could
she know that
I am wondering right
now if God still
does really love me,
after all I have done,
replied Asa looking down.

Oh Asa God does love you!
He always loves you.
replies Momma..

Faith,you have asked
me before why I left so
suddenly out of your and
Joshua's lives. And
I will tell you..
It was because I was
so ashamed how I
had treated Adam,
not believing him,and
not standing by
him when his family
kicked him out..Not
being there for
him and you,to
help somehow..I just
could not look at
Adam anymore,and
see the love there he
still had for me
when I had deceived
him,and had not
helped him and you
when I could of...

But I was scared,
that my family
would cut me off
too financially,
as they said before
that they would if I
associated anymore
"with that Jesus-lover"
I was in vet school at
the time,Faith as you
know,and I could
not afford to be
cut off financially.So
I ran away,and
changed my name.

I am so sorry Faith.
I know I let
you and Joshua down.
Joshua was like
a brother to me.

With tears streaming
down his face
Asa saids,Now you
know why I was so
surprised by what Kit saids.
How could that child know
that I needed to hear
those words? After
what I did to Adam
I did wondered if
God would ever love
me again,and
forgive me faith.
Can you ever forgive me
faith for what I have done?
I am lost..
I am alone.And I
don't know what to
do anymore besides work.
Asa saids as
he wiped the tears
from his face.

Oh Asa,yes I do
forgive you...Joshua
was so upset to
see that you just left
all of sudden with
no warning.And then
we heard that you
went to New York to college.
Yes Asa,Joshua did love you
as his brother he never
had,being a only child.

It hurt him alot
when his parents
kicked out of their
lifes when he became
a "Jesus-lover"
as your parents
called him.

Yes,Asa I know
his and your
parents were very
good friends at the time.
When Adam died in my arms at
the hospital one of the final
things he said to me was,
That if I ever saw Asa again
tell him I love him still
as my brother,Momma said...

Oh my God faith! He really
meant that?!Oh God,cries Asa,
I have missed him so!
Asa gets up and paces
around the room,crying...

Momma comes to him,
and gives him a gentle hug,
Asa I forgive you,
and I am sure Joshua has..
Just because you made a
mistake,and did the wrong thing,
did not stop me and Adan
from still loving you
as our dear friend.
and to Adam,you were
like a brother to
the very end.
Asa we forgive you,
won't you come to Jesus now,
and let Him forgive you
too,and begin a new life
with Jesus in your heart?
Momma asked Asa.

Oh Faith,yes I want to!
When you gave me
that hug a moment ago,
I felt such love and tenderness
that I have never
felt in my whole life!
It was like Jesus was
giving me as hug thru you.
Asa saids..

Asa,He was...Momma replies.
He told me to go give you that hug,
and I felt His love going out to you too.
Oh Faith,He does really love me then?!
Asa cries out..

Oh yes dearest Asa
He loves you so much!
And always will.
And right now He
is waiting for you
to invite Him into
your heart and life...
Momma replies..

Yes Faith,I do accept
Jesus into my Life.
As Joshua told me many
times that He wamts to
be my Lord and Saviour..
So now I do
receive Him as such...
Asa saids...
And so Momma leads
Asa to the Lord.

Oh faith,I feel
so clean now!
So free,forgiven,
Oh thanK You Jesus!
Asa saids happily...

Oh Asa I do
rejoice with you,
and I am sure
Joshua is rejoicing too
in Heaven,Momma replies.

Then there comes a knock at the
door,Momma wonders who could
it be at 10pm at nite?

She goes to the door,and
looks out the side window
first as she turns
on the front porch
light,and could
not believe her eyes,
who she is seeing standing
knocking at her front door!

She slowly opens the door,
and is looking into the eyes
of Joshua's mother!
