Chapter 1

It all began when a 10yr.old girl named Kit,
prayed for a cat,but not just any cat...
She asked God to send her a all
white cat with no other colors on it,
that has two different colored eyes,
a blue eye, and a green eye;
which were Kit's favorite colors.
She also asked God that this cat be young,
and loveable..And that she was going
to name her cat.......Kat.
Then she thanked the Lord for her
kitty that was on the
way to her...And she got up from
praying,and ran to
tell her Momma all about it...

She found her Momma in
the kitchen doing the dishes..
"Momma, momma I got to tell you
about my prayer I just
prayed; Kit said excitedly.

"Ok honey tell me,
I am listening to you..
Momma repiled..
So kit tells her all about her prayer,
and said..."And she going to have
a blue eye,and a green
eye too! And my kitty the
Lord is sending me Momma will be
all white as well! Kit said earnestly.

Momma thought,"My goodness..the
faith of my child just
amazes me..Her daddy
would have been so proud!"...
Kit's daddy died 3 yrs ago in
a terrible car accident...
And before that he was a pastor
in a small,but growing local church
here in the small town in
Maine that they lived in.

"Momma! So what ya think?"asked kit,
bringing back Momma
to the present...
"Oh honey I think it is wonderful!"

"What is so wonderful?" Kit's grandmother
asked as she came slowly
in the kitchen in her wheelchair.

Kit answered,Grandmother it is
wonderful that God going to
send me a kitty with a blue
eye and a green eye.That she
will be all white with
no other colors on her. And
I am going to named her,Kat!
said kit excitedly.

"Nonesense!" Why would God do
that for you? He is too busy
with more important things..
Faith, grandmother speaking
to Kit's Momma..Where this
child get such nonesense?
Like you need a cat in here!
Grandmother said annoyed.

"Grandmother God will send me
my cat,and you will see it,
and believe that God does
hear and answer my prayers,even
though I am only 10yrs old" kit repiled.
Then Kit runs off to play with her dolls.

Mother, Kit's Momma said to grandmother,
I have asked you kindly not to
be so hard on Kit..and not to
belittle her faith in God..
Why do you still do this?
Kit's Momma asked Grandmother.

So why filled that child's head
with that churchy nonesense
that her daddy talked about all
the time? Didn't do him no
good either..
Mother! Do not talk about
Joshua like that in my house.
Kit's Momma told grandmother.

Alright,alright,gee. Can you
pour me a cup of coffee?
grandmother asked Kit's Momma.
So Kit's Momma goes gets a cup
and pours grandmother a cup of coffee.

Grandmother had come to live
with Kit and her Momma
4 months ago when grandmother
fell and injured her hip
and back.Doctors said they did not
think it was wise or safe
for grandmother to live on her
own anymore. Also grandmother has
many medicines to take for
various problems,and she had to
take them exactly right on time.
Doctors were worried that without
help grandmother could
get confused about the
medicines and take them at
the wrong times,and too much.
So Momma did not want
to put her in a nursing home,
so grandmother came here to live,
for no other relative wanted
her with them. Kit's Momma
loved grandmother but she
could get on your nerves at times.

That night they had a terrible thunderstorm
with alot of lightning
and high winds. Suddnely there
was a loud crash outside nearby
which woke everyone up
wondering what the noise was from..
Kit's Momma looked out the
window to see that a huge tree had
fallen just a few feet away
from the very window she was looking
out of! Oh my goodness! Kit's Momma said..
What Momma? Kit said she ran
to her mother, and looked
out the window,and saw
the tree laying there
so near to the house.
Momma God protected us.
It is ok Momma the house
didn't get touched by that
tree falling down, Kit said.

Grandmother saids I thought I hear
a car passing by a few minutes ago
before that crash.Saw its headlights
shining in my bedroom window.
Stupid to be out driving
in a night like this.Grandmother said.

Momma what is that noise? kit asked..
What noise honey?
kit's Momma replied.
Listen Momma,there it is again.
Sounds like its coming from the
front porch! Kit replies as she runs
to the front door. Wait honey!
Let me get the umbrella.
Kit's Momma saids to her.

Mew, mew came a noise from near
the front door,very soft,and
low...Then Momma comes to
the front door where Kit is,
and turns on the porch light,
and slowly opens the door to see
what is making that noise.

Oh my goodness!
Momma said very surprised.
For there on her porch,
in a small rain-filled box was a
tiny white kitten,meowing.
"Oh Momma! God sent my kitty to me!
Kit replied
excitdely when she
saw the tiny kitten there.

Momma picks the box up and brings
the kitten into the house.
Go get a towel kit, we need
to dry her off so she doesn't
catch a cold. Momma saids.
Kit runs off to get the towel.
Grandmother had gone back to bed.
Kit comes back with a big
towel and hands it to her
Momma. She gently dries the little kitten.
And soon she was all dried.

Oh Momma can I please hold her now?
kit asks.
So momma gives the kitten to kit,
and the little kitty snuggles
against her,and starts to purr.

Hello Kat you're my God-sent kitty,
and I love you,Kit saids
to the kitten. The kitten looks at her,
and then kit notices that
she has two different colored eyes.
Oh Momma, her eyes are blue
and green too! Kit saids happily.

Well praise the good Lord honey...
She sure is your miracle-kitty.
you prayed for. Momma replied.

Kat the kitten looked to be about 3 months old.
So kit goes back to her bed with Kat
in her arms,singing a song
she just learned in church last week called:
What a Mighty God we Serve.

As Kit gets into her bed with Kat she saids:
Thank You Jesus For my kitty....I also pray
Jesus that my grandmother will come to love Kat,
and believe that she was sent to me from You.

Amen
