The other day I was digging around in the Fridge and came upon a bowl of cold spaghetti. As I took the bowl out and prepared to fix some for myself, I had a moment of inspiration. I began to wonder just how many bowls of cold spaghetti were sitting in refrigerators across our nation at that very moment? There had to be millions! The thought was staggering! All the different concoctions of carbs & tomatoes.
Peppers, mushrooms, olive oil, Al dente, garlic, onions, Alfredo…..infinity.
I surveyed a few friends to see if I was right and sure enough, we had several bowls cooling at the time. One even said he had some at home with corn in it?!
I realized the thousands upon thousands of different ingredients that make up this gastronomical delight. A simple dish that has been fed to paupers and kings throughout history.
Of course nobody's Spaghetti is as good as mine…or yours for that matter. Yes, each dish is unique in its own way and we tend to be partial to our very own. Very similar to the fierce loyalty we have for our mothers Potato Salad.
Yet Spaghetti in itself, is nothing more than hardened shapes of flour and something akin to ketchup. Not much different than the human race. A handful of clay, some water, a quick breath from Heaven and Voila! You.
If we get down to the basics we have a lot in common with cold spaghetti.
It is the personal ingredients that set us all apart in this grand scale. Different spices & the personal touch from the hand of the Almighty Chef have made us all just a little different.
Yet In spite of all our differences, when he opens His mighty fridge in Heaven, we’re all just Noodles & Sauce!
