“Your Best Witness Is How You Live”

Second Thessalonians 3:7 mentions: For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you.


Your best witness is how you live because your life is a reflection of you. As Christians, I believe that we have a standard to maintain. It behooves us to walk the walk not only talk the talk. When it comes to God, talkers talk but walkers walk. A problem with the church is that there are too many talkers and not enough walkers. We cannot live our lives contrary to God and lead people to Christ. We can pray in tongues, quote scriptures etc, but our actions and reactions will always speak louder than words.

When you tell people that you are a Christian they do not look for the Christ in you. They look for the hypocrite in you first. They watch you like a hawk with the expectation that you will slip up so they can tell others, look I told you she was a hypocrite, did you see what she did? Why is that? I believe that so many so-called Christians are doing too much talking and not enough walking. So our best witness must be in how we live.

I love giving people tracts and leaving tracts where others can read them. It is good to pass out tracts and tell people about Jesus but if we are acting like the devil we will not be taken seriously. Going to Church does not make you a Christian. We must watch what comes out of mouths. Our lives must reflect that we have a relationship with God. We have to carry ourselves a certain way in Christ not just any kind of way because we are called out. If we are bondservants of Christ, let us walk in Christ. Believers cannot not become Christians and live like heathens at the same time.

Our lives are the witnessing vessels that should first tell others about Jesus Christ. If they reject Christ they will at least know that you are serious about your salvation and they will begin to watch you. If God draws them it will be through the Christ in you. I feel it is time that we show the world who we represent. The world needs Jesus Christ not hypocrites. We are connected to the living God, the savior of the world. Amen.
