Pushed aside in a corner,
fear and despair gnawed at my core.
I became a worthless shell.
Desires were pointless,
meaningless, an empty-headiness
pushed me in many directions.

Seeking His help,
He drew me beneath His wings:
cuddled me like a newborn,
granted me a refuge,
shielded and nursed my wounds,
all the terrors of the hour departed
and left me whole and free.
