Emptying Of The Vessel

Thus it's time to empty out the vessel
so God can renew the inside
Putting away the old man, which is the flesh
and let the spirit of God abide

We confess God's word then what's the problem
why should there be a debate
Unless your fruits have now withered up
and you decide to grow hate

If your self-righteous the fruits are useless
all bitter thoughts that are vain
Not pure righteousness from the Lord
where his Holiness can remain

How can God tell one it's wrong to do so
and to another, that it's ok,
We are getting mixed messages this I see
so who does have the real say

If you don't like a person just be honest
and don't be beating all around
But ask help of God to not just pretend
stop putting each other down

For no one has made it yet
sinned and came short of the glory of God
This passage was written so I'll know
to work on what I have inside

We must be careful in whom we judge
check the meter see if it's running right
Then you will find, it's off a few a notches
when there lingers bits of spite

God holds us to in what we do know
for he sees what's in the heart
And it's hard to fool such a wise God
who had made man from the start

You can't do right when the flesh refuses
it's got to die so the soul can live
we have to crucify it with the word of God
then you'll be able to forgive

We must live peacfully with all men
even if they do reject us
And I rather stay under God's grace and mercy
because, him I can trust

The trash cans full and needs to be dumped
put a lid on it, do it real quick
For if you don't more junk will come
with garbage full of tricks

God told us to be wise as a serpent
but harmless as a dove
And if other's choose to go their way
they'd be dealt with by God above

His whole desire is to comfort his people
and to minister each his grace
He wants to fulfill his every promise
and help us in what we face

Obedience is better than sacrifice
this is what the word says to me
But it's also for those who want to obey
and if they don't let them be
