O' waken thou soul and be encouraged
and tell your heart it is well
Also let it know this, that it's all good
and to rid of the bell

When God delivered us from certain things
that now tries to pull us back
It comes in ways that you never thought of
to get us off the right track

It's the trick of the Devil that does this
to get us back in the war zone
And make us to use those carnal weapons
that he knows we left alone

But we chose to gain the spiritual ground
no more fighting the natural way
Throwing spit balls and spewing out slurs
no this is not the game to play

It's a form of bondage, but God set us free
so our battles we don't have to fight
But when you look, here comes the strings
to tie us up and bind us tight

Some can be a spirit of fear or torment
or it can be that low esteem
Anyway it comes to keep us from living
and to soil what God made clean

They will go and get their chopping block
which is their lap to cut off our head
And will get close enough with ax raised up
for in their hearts evil is hid

Then their minds become a meter reader
clicking off and on each day
Nothing good coming up, only bad thoughts
and so many live this way

God did raise us up out, the bed of ashes
and then we, became his clay
That he took and molded, with his own hands
so be glad he came our way

Now we don't have to regret this life
though it has not been the best
But take your weapons and give them to God
and then he will do the rest

Life is too sweet to be a hammering tool
God has better thoughts of you
And when you find that your had enough
then he will bring you through

God's grace came filled with forgiveness
it does not carry any hate
But looks beyond the faults one's have
and this love, you can rate
