When I had got up one morning
with a thought about my day
And I said to myself, lets change this diet
by correcting in what I say

What will give me a good way to live
what will I take in me
Will I speak things, to take me down
or will I look and see

That I don't have to feed on sadness
let not frustrations weigh me down
Take control in what I put in my thoughts
and I'd make my mind be sound

What if the bad does come my way
I can take a dose of glee
Get some pills of joy to make me laugh
and it will keep my spirit free

I don't even have to accept the bad days
don't have to put them on my list
Though they may come, but I can wipe them off
so the good ones I won't miss

The junk food of despair I have to cast away
heavy plates of doom, I will discard
I can refuse to use, bits of, a quick fix
but God's healthy meal I will regard

I can ask him keep filling my cup with joy
fill my plate more of his peace
Let it over-run with grace and mercy
then my soul will be at ease

What is not good for me I've got to let go
keep it out of my mouth of praise
And enjoy each hour with God's given power
that will help me on all my days

All of God's promise's they are sure
a simple diet we use each day
It will lighten the weights off the soul
by the positive words that we say
