At my first breath, you saw in me,
A life that was meant, a life to be shared
My first cuddle, my first kiss,
All came from you

When life got rough before I walked,
You took me in your arms,
There I was, so safe and sure

When I took that first great step,
My life began anew
And yet behind it all, there was you
So sure so true.

When I played and got wet through,
You cleaned the mud and dressed the wounds,
When I was separated from you
I always knew that you would come through

I danced and played the field of life
We, laughed, we joked, we saw it through
When I got wed you wept a tear
And yet we knew you would help us through

When times got tough,
and we needed help
I would know that you were there
To guide us through

To ponder on what lays ahead
I know one thing, that is always true

And that is mum,
I love the life and the friendship that you began
And that will always be
