Poetry
The lights seem to get brighter
as the evening wears on.
My thoughts turn
toward love and understanding
instead of dread and hatred.
I can find peace
and laughter now,
I no longer feel the need
to suppress feelings
or negate what I feel.
I can now sit
with peace,
love and life.
I did not know
that life
could be
this wonderful.
God is in charge.
