Darkness fills my every day

My friends just laugh and binge on beer
All they do is sneer.

Some say it was a UFO
Came to take the preachers home
Or maybe it was terrorists
Turning infidels to mist

Or maybe it’s an asteroid
Sucking souls into a void
Who cares what hit the earth, they said
It’s party time, religion’s dead.

Mother you were right
I wouldn’t see the light
Jesus called me day and night
but all I did was fight.

My friends are gone and I’m alone
I’m just fifteen and must leave home
The landlord’s put me on the street
Lord Jesus please have mercy....

Mother I can’t buy or sell
If I get chipped I’ll go to hell.
That is what the prophet said
I’ve got to trust God for my bread

Preaching Jesus and His Word
