God Is Now/Here

Jean was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and a law student at Indiana University—Bloomington. One day Jean placed a wooden sign on her bedroom door which said:

GOD IS NOWHERE!

Following her graduation from Indiana University, Jean immediately took and passed the Indiana Bar examination without any trouble whatsoever. She then became a successful attorney in one of Indianapolis’ largest law firms. Occasionally, Jean would meet clients who would say to her, “I thank God and I thank you, Jean, for a wonderful job!” Jean would always follow by saying, “God does not exist. God is nowhere.”

On a trip to a Bar Association meeting and training conference in Chicago, Jean was involved in a six car accident that resulted in her hospitalization in a coma.

“Jean, why have you forsaken Me?”

“Who are you?” responded Jean.

“I am whom you have denied for many years. You are responsible for the condemnation of many souls.”

“Jesus?”

“Yes!”

“What is going on? You’re not real. My professors said so when I was in college and I could not find any evidence of Your existence.”

“So what do you say now?”

“I guess you do exist. I was wrong. I’m sorry. What is going on? Why are You here anyway?

“Jean, you were involved in a serious car accident. You are in a hospital, in a coma and near death right now. At this time if you were to die, you would go straight to hell,” responded Jesus.

Within an instance, Jean saw the horrors of people who died that very moment and went straight to hell. The screams and the cries horrified Jean.

“Oh, please Lord; don’t let me die right now! Please Lord, please!”

“Jean! Jean! Jean!” responded a nurse. “Welcome back to life. At first no one thought you would make it. But it looks like you’ll be okay. I’ll get the doctor right now, okay!”

Within two weeks following her hospitalization, Jean was released to return home. As soon as she was able to go back to her law office, Jean took out her old college door sign and with one stroke of her wood burning tool changed the sign to read this:

GOD IS NOW//HERE

She placed the sign on her law office door for all to see urging colleagues and client to believe!
