NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US SHALL PROSPER

Isaish 54:13-19 (Good News Translation)

“I myself will teach your people
and give them prosperity and peace.
Justice and right will make you strong.
You will be safe from oppression and terror.
Whoever attacks you,
does it without my consent;
whoever fights against you will fall.

“I create the blacksmith,
who builds a fire and forges weapons.
I also create the soldier,
who uses the weapons to kill.
But no weapon will be able to hurt you;
you will have an answer for all who accuse you.
I will defend my servants
and give them victory.”

As Christians we often feel like we must bear the attacks of the enemy, of evil people, and of malicious acts against us in complete submissiveness. Yes, we are instructed to turn the other cheek, primarily because the slap on one side will not hurt us in the first place! In Christ, we will be strong enough to withstand any assault against us.

In the above passage we see that God promises to be our source of wisdom and strength. The verses do not say we will not be attacked, but that the unrighteous attacks against us will be fruitless, and God will protect us from harm.

When you consider this passage along with other scripture, such a Luke 10:19, we have great confidence and our efforts may continue without fear of evil doers. In such a case as our enemy may overcome us completely unto death, it will only be by the Father's will that it is so. In which case, the result is victory for we will inherit the promise of eternity with our Lord! Amen.

I may take a moment to boast of my Lord's faithfulness.

I think it is rather amusing when those with evil in their hearts attempt to bring a good man or woman down with malicious rumors, or weak attempts to disrupt one's ministry. On the other hand, I can not help to feel a bit of sorrow for these unfortunate sinners for with each attack they launch against a faithful servant of Christ, they only bring more sorrow upon themselves.

When we can even love our enemies, God will bring hot coals of fire upon their heads. He is our defender and judge of the wicked.
