For months now, I have been undergoing a change, a metamorphosis of sorts. That broken spirit that I have carried around for so long, is being healed and made whole.
I have been doing some searching lately. The Lord gave me a golden nugget of Truth this morning. In the revelation that is finally engrained deep within me, I have found a treasure.

His Word says that if we believe, then He’ll count it unto us as righteousness. I have known this fact for nearly 20 years now. Today, I finally KNOW it. The Light shone on it and I really see it with spiritual eyes. The perfect sacrifice died in my place so I do not have to be perfect. There is a difference in what I do and who I am in Christ. I am the righteousness of God, in Christ Jesus, according to His Word.

I just realized today that He is pleased with me because I am covered in the blood and standing on the Rock. It is just a deeper realization of what I already knew.
He is continually at the right hand of Our Father lifting up my needs because I need it so desperately. If we believe in the finished work on the Cross, He counts it unto us as righteousness.

His Word says, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. . . For I Am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. . . Since you were precious in My sight, you have been honored, and I have loved you.” Isaiah 43:1-4

Since I was a small child, I would recite Psalm 119:105. He is hiding His Word in my heart that I might not sin against Him. He guards the Word lest the enemy tries to steal it from me. Satan is under my feet. My victory is complete in the spiritual realm. It’s already been settled forever. It WILL be manifested in the natural. The enemy cannot have my life because it was purchased long ago by My Savior’s Precious Blood.

Again, there is a difference in what I do and who I am in Christ. His Word tells me that I Am the righteousness of God in Christ. That leaves no room for a low self esteem or a defeated life. I have NEVER been good enough in my relationships. I’ve not been caught up in the legalism of trying to work my way to heaven, but I have had difficulty understanding how Christ sees me. If I could just see myself through His eyes and what love He has for us.

He tells me in Isaiah 30:18 that He longs to bless us. And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking and longing] to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!

PTL for victory! Healing! Wholeness! Truth! I like the metamorphosis image - change without losing identity, but rather discovering a new expression of an old (immature) reality.

Friend, there isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said. I just praise the Lord on your behalf. Funny how He will save the more full revelation of His Word for times when we most need it. He's just awesome that way!

Mitzi, what an outstanding article! ("Again, there is a difference in what I do and who I am in Christ. His Word tells me that I Am the righteousness of God in Christ.") You are so right, we will make mistakes, but that does not change the fact that He is our righteousness! Isn't it such a special joy when the Holy Spirit takes something that we have known for years and shines His light on it, bringing forth a realization that we never had before? The word is living and oh so precious, as so are you! Love, Sharon

Good study. I wish I could have read this 30 years ago!

I had a low self-esteem with a false front of confidence all my life until the first of this year. God "said" to look in the mirror and tell him what I saw. I did, and I saw that same little kid who never fit in. Then God told me to look again and try to see myself as he sees me, as he created me to be. Wow! Talk about epiphanys and spiritual experiences. Thank you for keeping this fresh in my spirit.

Good one Mitzi...when God looks at us, he sees his son in our hearts and it is counted as righteousness. Man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.

Don't you just love all the 'completedness' of God. All the I have and you are...and all the other blessed 'finishedness' that God pours out on us. It's all done!!! He completed it all!!! I just need to allow it to fall on me as in obedience I walk with Him....

Thank you, Mitzi, for this piece. It's confirmation for me in my situation. Sometimes I fall into condemnation and feel sooo inadequate to even love Jesus. I forget that the 'Spirit envies intensely' for us. Hallelujah. Thank you Grace.

Dear Mitzi, How your words hit home! "His Word tells me that I Am the righteousness of God in Christ. That leaves no room for a low self esteem or a defeated life." That statement is something for us to strive for everyday. Oh, bless you - I feel your joy and excitement at your revelation! The load has been removed from your shoulders and replaced with the armor of God. Your spirit will shine for all to see! Thank you for sharing this special 'moment' with us in such a profound way. Love, Peggy
