I'm sure all of us are either going through or have been through a dry spell lately, It's hard... hard to think of God let alone pray to him. For me anyways it was and has been, but something stood out to me this past week.
"Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, "Where are you?" -Genesis 3:8-9
Let me back track a little bit for you, God has created this perfect place for us. I mean its beatiful!! Food is every where, there is nothing to fear... but as I'm sure all of you know the story, we sinned and because of that Adam & Eve tried to hide from God. Thats kinda depressing right? I mean they've just messed up big time right? We had it made!!! No work, no tears... no nothing, but because Eve ate where she wasn't supposed to, they realized they were naked. Now the point I'm really trying to make is this: God didn't have to walk through the garden to find them, he knew what had happened and where they were at. I mean he's God!! He knows all, he knew what happened but I believe he wanted to make a point very early in his word to us... "I love you, and no matter what you do or where you go I'm going to come after you!" He asked "Where are you?" I mean he could have just zapped them both and started over but he didn't because he loved them. Must people read that and go "wow thats really sad, they messed up and God kicked them out..." Yeah but right their in the middle of it God is making a point by just walking through the garden looking for them, he is trying to show us that no matter what happens he will always chase after you. That hit hard for me, and I've thought alot about it lately. Many times throughout the story of man, we have fallen and ran from God. You would think that after the first 50 times God would go..."Ok, I'm done with this... Cows are easier to handle..." But he didn't, he kept given us that next chance. WOW! Think about it? This world we live in only knows 2nd chances but God is so much bigger and loves us to such a great amount that no matter what we do he will always give us that next chance.
