What’s Grace Got To Do With It?
(Isn’t Grace Amazing?)

Treava, Manuel and Jesus stood together watching a golf tournament game. Jesus’ team was playing a winner take all game with Satan’s team. Jesus’ team was up to take their shots. At this time, the score was tied -68 to -68. Treava, Manuel and Jesus continued to watch the tournament when Love stepped up. Love hit the ball placing next to the bunker—a really tough shot if he was going to sink it into the hole. But because Love never fails, he sunk the shot after two tries.

The next member of the team was Faith. Faith, at first, drove the ball into the water and was given the opportunity to make a dropped ball and resume play. After three tries, Faith had enough on the ball to sink the shot to save par However, Jesus’ team was down -69 to -68 to Satan’s team.

Next up was Godly wisdom. Satan tried with all of his deadly skills to throw Godly wisdom off by talking about her beauty—that she was ugly. Satan then said Godly wisdom was prudish, old fashion, and not with the times. He said the words loud enough that everyone around heard it. Godly wisdom stood firm though and did not sway in the face of Satan’s taunts. She hit the ball solidly bring Jesus’ team back on par with Satan’s team making it a tie score once again.

The Lord smiled and was pleased with Godly wisdom’s strength in the face of adversity. Jesus then turned to His number team member—Grace. When Satan and his team saw Grace, they all laughed out loud and taunted Grace even more than they did Godly wisdom. For Grace didn’t look like much. Grace was small in stature; skinny, wore glasses and was in baggy pants nor was she the prettiest person on the course. Yes, Satan and his imps laughed so hard and made fun of Grace because she didn’t seem like much to them. Satan and his team began jumping up and giving each other high fives for they knew in their devilish hearts that the tournament was over. They were talking among themselves how they would rule the world and all things in it. They could be heard to say; “Today the world! Tomorrow heaven!”

Grace put the ball on the tee, took three large breaths, let them out and with a mighty swing, hit the ball. The ball took off like Satan never seen before. When the ball finally landed, it was a hole in one!!! Satan could hardly believe it! He was shocked, stunned and gravely disappointed. Satan could not come back. The Lord’s team had won the tournament. Everyone was shocked and amazed at Grace’s shot except the Lord.

The Lord, with a smile, went over to the still shocked Treava and Manuel. “How did Grace do it?” asked Treava.

Then the Lord explained: “Love, Faith and Godly Wisdom, although outstanding golf players could not, on their own win the golf tournament. Now, my children, can you tell me why they could not win this tournament on their own?”

Looking at one another, Treava and Manuel admitted to the Lord that they didn’t know the answer to His question. The Lord hugged them as they walked to across the bright green golf course to the lounge and explained the events in this way: “If your love, faith and wisdom could win for you, then you would believe that you could win on your own merits. Then you’d boast about how good and great you are. What Satan has never understood is that no matter how tall or small, knowledgeable or smart, good-looking or no so good looking you are, that Grace will always win out. Grace is the one that Satan and his followers cannot understand nor can they ever stop or defeat. Isn’t Grace amazing!!!!!”
