At Gethsemane
If I had been at Gethsemane
And knelt where Jesus prayed,
In awe would I have knelt there,
At all that He had said.
"Not my will, but Thine be done"
Such powerful words were they.
As soldiers with torches gathered 'round
And took my Jesus away.
If I had been at Gethsemane
What would I have done?
Would I have stayed and fought for
My Lord?
Or would I in fear have run?
If I had been at Gethsemane
No difference could I have made.
For God had designed that wondrous plan
That all men might be saved.
