Testimonies
Two weeks ago I asked a street preacher to give his testimony. As he talked in a busy market place I made rough notes. The following is a final draft.
My name is Robert. A number of years ago I was living in sin ... smoking, drinking, clubbing and had a girlfriend that was a dancer! I never went to church or read the Bible and was not sure if there was a God. I had no thought for God or my soul.
One morning I had just finished working and laid down on the bed.As I lay there I had a visitation from the Lord. The power of God came upon me and convicted me of sin. The Lord revealed to me that the Bible is true and that it is the Word of God. As the Spirit of the Lord brought conviction to my heart I began to cry.
I heard a voice say to me, " Do you believe in the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit? " I replied, " Yes! " Following this incident, I experienced both forgiveness of sins and peace in my heart. ( Prior to this time I had neither peace nor joy ! ).
