The Green Meadow

Sitting alone in a meadow of green
Reflecting on life, and all that I've seen
Watching the grass, and flowers all grow
Realizing how much, I simply don't know
In these quite moments, as I sit here alone
I hear silent whispers, so, I decide to call home
Calling my Father, the Lord up above
Just for reassurance, of his support and his love.
I speak not; with voice, I speak with my heart
I ask for his help, pulling, my life’s cart.
In all of my years, I've gathered a lot
But, even I know... faith, is all that I've got!
Belief in the father, and too... his son
Through them I am saved, salvations begun!
He tells me... "My child, I'm right at your side,
Helping you push, Stride, for stride...
Sometimes I push, as you pull, and you lead
Then we trade places, in times of your need.
You're never alone; my son stands next to you
Then look over your shoulder, you'll find me there too!
Life’s never as easy, as we want it to be
Life; has some lessons, that are harder to see
Everyone has a choice... they forget that sometimes
Because of free will, you each decide if your mine
One of my children, one; of my sons flock
One of the faithful, I've bless fully got."
Slips and falls, he, expects that of me
I am, only human, but I believe... faithfully!
I faithfully believe... that he and his son
Will help me with my trials and those yet to come!
My troubles haven't changed, but, my perception sure has
No longer fighting feelings, that was gloomy and sad.
I look around the green meadow, Gods, work in progress
And I know in my heart, I'm lovingly blessed.
