Oh heavenly Father bring forth in me,
Those wonderful things that only You see.
A heart that is yearning and filled with desire,
To receive from You a most holy fire.
A fire that will burn away all the dross,
And nail this old nature steadfast to the cross.
For when this old nature rears it’s ugly head,
It makes me wish truly that indeed I were dead!
For so often when You have something to say,
Then ugly old me just gets in the way.
For I of myself can be so absurd,
That never a word from You will be heard.
Please let the light of Your Son shine through,
Till they’ll never see me, but only see You.
As Jacob saw Esau may we see others too,
For in the face of His brother He saw only You.
(Jacob was bearing presents to Esau hoping to find favor with him!)
Genesis 33:1—Now Jacob lifted his eyes and looked, and there, Esau was coming, and with him were four hundred men. (4) But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and they wept. (Esau was so very gracious to Jacob and was not even caring about the present.) (9) But Esau said, I have enough, my brother; keep what you have for yourself. (10) And Jacob said, “No please, If I have now found favor in your sight, then receive my present from my hand, inasmuch as I HAVE SEEN YOUR FACE AS THOUGH I HAD SEEN THE FACE OF GOD, and you were pleased with me.

Those wonderful things that only You see." I am most grateful that His thoughts are not out thoughts... that He does not see us the way we often see ourselves. If He did, I'd be in deep, deep trouble. Rather, I live neck deep... and even deeper... in the floods of grace. Today, I have seen the wondrous face of God in your pen. You are such an encouragement to me!!!
