THE SECRET OF PRAYER WARRIORS

We are enjoined to pray without ceasing Luke 18:1, but
to be a great prayer warrior you must understand some
certain secrets. Many prayer warriors of old were
able to conquer nations, kingdoms and territories for
Christ because they were ready for the service of the
Lord; first, like the Macedonian Christians they gave
themselves to the Lord 2 Corinthians 8:1. they were
men who will not stop at anything but fully allowed
the Holy Spirit to direct and control their lives.
However, these men have certain things in common.
1. They are men of faith: With their believes in
Christ, they were able to pull down strongholds of the
enemy Hebrews 11.
It is their faith that propel them to pray, believing
that he who promise is able to do it. Like Edward
Jonathan said God does nothing except men prays these
prayed until results came out.
2. Their methods of prayer: In the book of First King
chapter 18 verse 43, Elijah went to the top of Mount
Camel and prayed in an uncomfortable way, with this
method it was impossible for him to (1) have a
wandering mind i.e. not concentrate on his prayer
target (2) to sleep or doze off during prayers. He is
a man of purpose who is bent on getting results.
3. Depend on Holy Spirit: the Holy spirit is the
commanding officer during prayer and after. No wonder
the Bible said we do not know how to pray Romans
8v26-27. That means being human we are still weak in
understanding and battle strategies but the Holy
Spirit is ready to give the right understand.
Sometimes you need the right word to speak to certain
situation in your life, which He can illuminate or
impress your heart with, since words are great weapons
in spiritual warfare; words are keys that can open
doors for example when Jesus got to a young girl that
died he said “ little girl arise” and she stood up.
If you are conversant with how God started raising the
dead in the ministry of Late Archbishop Benson
Idahosa, it was this word that he spoke to a dead girl
he met and the miracle occurred. It does not mean
that the word is a magic word to raise the dead, but
on every occasion God is ready to give you a word that
will give victory. The Holy Spirit may inspire you to
start praying in another language, but all the same He
will show you the way of victory when you depend on
him.
4. Filled with the Scriptures: In Colossians chapter
3 verse 16-17, it said that the word of God should
dwell in you richly in all wisdom.
This means in every sense of application, you must
know what the word of God said about every issue
that is challenging you at a particular time. The
word is like a hammer, it will break things into
pieces, it is like fire, it will burn. “He sent his
word and healeth them and deliver them form all
destructions” Psalm 107 v 20, learn how to send the
Lord’s word against the obstacles.
5. Prayer is wrestling: If you want to fight and win
in spiritual warfare, you must see prayer as battles
in which you have a good advantage over your enemy,
but you have to fight. Though the Lord promised the
promise land, but the people still fought to possess
the land I Colossians 4 verse 12 it was written that
Epaphras was wrestling in prayers for the Colossians
Christians to be established. Your attitudes towards
prayer should be that of a warrior.
6. The warriors garment: Christians are soldiers and
are not civilians, according to 2 Timothy 2 verse 4,
and so we can not be involved in civilian
(unbelievers way) matter. When a soldier begin to
believe like a civilian then, he has lost his
discipline and weapons so we must be dedicated,
determined and disciplined as soldiers in prayers 1
Corinthians 9 verse 27 Christians are advice to be
disciplined.
