Simplicity

We complicate our lives
As we go from day to day,
Trying to find our purpose
And listening to what others say.

We search even deeper
When we seek to do God's will.
Then, finally, it occurs to us
To listen to Him and be still.

Gradually, we understand.
The simplicity of it overwhelms!
We need to allow God to lead us
And let Him take over the helm.

Our purpose is to glorify God,
Accept His Son, and obey.
Focusing on this purpose
Will give meaning to each day.

In Heaven, we will praise God
And enjoy a beautiful peace.
It's God's desire that we begin now
And allow our struggling to cease.

For God's plan is pure simplicity -
We're the ones who make it complex.
But if we relinquish control to Him
He'll take care of the plan that comes next.

So, our purpose has become clearer -
To give God glory and praise
And acknowledge that He's the Architect
Who will plan and design all our days.

This is beautiful Peggy and so very true. If we will just spend time in His presence and praise and glorify Him, then He will work out every detail of our lives. He even wills in us to do of His good pleasure. Very lovely article. In His love and mine, Sharon

Oh Peggy, how very true that statement is. Trying in our own might to fight a battle that's already been own. "O Lord, how extremely patient you are with me. Thank you!" What a glorious lesson you have shared with us. May the Lord bless you mightily, as you bless others with your words and sweet spirit. - Nancy

What a great reminder for us all that the very purpose of our existence is to glorify God. Living in simple abundance, not in life's complexities. Thank you Peggy for another well-written and insightful poem. Your Sister in Christ- Gloria
