With my hands still shaking I am handed my nails, one for each hand. My greed and lust have overpowered my life, took control of my mind. I walk away with tears falling from the memories, remembering all I have destroyed. My heart of stone, my cold touch is all I have to show for this life of mine. Horror strikes my face as I read the words written on my nails, one says "greed" & the other "lust". Shameful tears keep falling as I go to deliever my sins. In the distance I see a cross, I behold a single man hanging there. Nails & blood seem to be the only things around, as I approach with my head held down in shame a woman walks past me. We both stop, our eyes meet.... through the tears I make out her face. I guess I thought I would see pain but I was taking aback with the glowing in her face... something I really hadn't noticed at first. She nodded at me and I started to understand the reason... as she went on her way I noticed she had blood all over her hands. I made my way with my nails tightly in hand to his cross, as I stood in the front of him I could hear his breathing... It was deep & heavy.... I could hear the sadness in his exhales. Emotion overcame me as I fell to my knees, heavy sobs were the only words I could speak... I grew silent has I heard him speak..." It's alright my son, do what you came here to do....I love you" Tears were now rushing down my face as I grabbed the hammer. As I began to deliever my nails I heard him repeat over & over again "I love you." Every hit at the nails, memories were erased by the blood that now covered all my body. Tears of relief overwhelmed me as I began realize the nails were no longer mine.
