Celebrate the Good News



Mark 16:15 declares, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to all creation.” Sometimes we overlook the small blessings from our Lord, Jesus Christ. During my childhood, I was an extremely slow learner and reader. I was embarrassed when I constantly was placed in reading labs. The thought of the teacher calling my name to read horrified me. My mother dropped out of school at the age of nine, so reading was a problem for her as well. Every year I would put forth immense effort in becoming a better reader. Finally during my junior high school year, I conquered my weakness and was placed in advanced English. Now I have a daughter, who guess what, struggles with reading. My worst nightmare was re-surfacing. She had difficulties grasping sounds, writing and grammar. I never let her claim her weakness. Every time she would get discouraged, we would pray for help from our beloved God. I asked God to bless her mind with clarity and understanding regarding her lessons. She is now in the 4th grade and brought her reading grades from a D to an A. I rejoice in the amazing grace of God. She is on the A/B honor roll and no longer is afraid of reading or writing. God answered our prayers. He delivered her from poor reading and grammar. She reads in front of the class with confidence instead of fear. 2Corinthians 12:9 (NIV) states, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Celebrate your weaknesses, let the power of Jesus mold them into strengths. Whenever we hide or become shameful of our weak areas, God can not make them steps into victory. Your victories become testimonies of encouragement for someone else who may be struggling. Always share your testimonies. Give God all the glory and remember all things are possible through Jesus that loves us.
