(Luke 11:33-36)
In the garden it began
That false light
... looking with ‘eyes’
You never intended to be mine
Eyes
That had chosen darkness
In Heaven’s realm,
And now cast
Their ‘seeing ways’
Into the Potter’s clay.
‘the light of darkness’...
Within my world
Abounds
Trying to infiltrate
The lamp
You created me to be.
Be, Thou, Lord,
My only light,
The sole Illuminator
Of my soul.
Cast out
Every spark
By darkness lit,
And shed Your light in me.
